Defining your objectives-part 3/n

I have had a general understanding of my objective since first talking to my advisor about this paper-essentially, we want to know the impact of forest harvesting on hydrology. Or, as he put it in an email to me "focus on the cumulative effects of the logging".

We have the dataset to do that, since we have two watersheds, one was partially logged and the other was not. We have data from both watersheds before the harvest and after the harvest.

My current question is, "How will I know or measure the change attributable to the harvest?" What sorts of stats should I do? What data do I really need?

I don't have the answer off the top of my head, I know I will use either a Before-After Conrol-Impact (BACI) or paired watershed statistical design. But how?

So I am headed into the literature to find out what other folks have done. I am pledging to myself right now to be more organized in this phase than I have been in the past.

This is the weir at Clemons Fork-the treatment watershed for this study.
